Annex
Het aantal kinderen in het hoofdgebouw werd te groot en de grote vraag was dan ook of er geld beschikbaar was om een dependance te bouwen. In eerste instantie bedoeld voor de dove kinderen. Maar toen bleek dat het nieuwe gebouw op een plek wat verder van het hoofdgebouw kwam te staan, vonden we het niet zo'n goed idee om daar, helemaal apart van de horende kinderen, de dove kinderen les te geven. We vinden het belangrijk dat de dove kinderen juist bij de horende kinderen integreren en met elkaar opgroeien.
Besloten werd om dan Primary 6 en Primary 7 daar les te geven, want zij moeten vaker naar school en zeker voor Primary 7 is rust en concentratie belangrijk. Een prachtige oplossing dus. Het geld werd gevonden en de bouw werd gestart.

The number of children in the main building became too large, and the big question was whether there was funding available to build an annex. Initially, it was intended for the deaf children. However, when it turned out that the new building would be located further away from the main building, we decided it wasn't a good idea to teach the deaf children there, completely separate from the hearing children. We believe it's important that the deaf children integrate with the hearing children and grow up together.
It was decided to teach Primary 6 and Primary 7 there, as they have to attend school more often, and peace and quiet are especially important for Primary 7. A wonderful solution. The funding was secured, and construction began.
Halverwege de bouw, werd toch weer anders besloten: de kleuters gaan naar de dependance. Dat is een betrekkelijk grote groep, 3 klassen met kleine kinderen die op deze manier niet onder de voet gelopen worden. Er is ook ruimte voor een mooie speelplek waar leuke speeltoestellen zullen worden geplaatst.

Ook aan speelmateriaal is gedacht. Eén van onze sponsors heeft haar verjaardagsgeld gedoneerd aan Lwengo Kids Foundation. Dat geld is besteed aan een aantal speeltoestellen voor de kleuters. En tot grote vreugde is er bij het hoofdgebouw een heus vliegtuig geplaatst!

Halfway through construction, a different decision was made: the preschoolers will move to the annex. This is a relatively large group, three classes of young children, who will thus be kept from being overrun. There is also room for a beautiful play area with some fun play equipment.
